Apart from this, it is said that Choti Katwa comes at night and cuts the braids of women. When women wake up in the morning, their braids are found cut. Due to this rumour, an old woman was murdered in Agra. It was told that this woman comes in the night and cuts everyone’s braids, to avoid this, people started hanging lemon and chilli in front of their houses and some people even started putting turmeric mark on the walls. When the police investigated it thoroughly, it was found that there is no such case and it is a rumor which is spread among the people.

This rumor remained limited to 2001 especially Delhi NCR areas. According to this rumor, people told that there is a monkey man who wears a helmet on his head and has huge hair on his body. He attacks anyone at night with his nails and has been told that he looks very dangerous and scary. When the police investigated it, they did not find any evidence of animal nails in the bodies of the injured persons. That is why the police also named it as a rumour.
